Aleš Kučera (*1965)

The JAMU alumni of the Department of synthetic theater genre (1989). After obtaining his certifi cate he became a freelance actor. He was engaged with a theater for children, pantomime and activity theater. He teaches drama, dance and a tap dancing. He is a director of his own theater GENUS.

After his musicals The Path and Atlantida he paired with Brno‘s renaissance musician Jiří Levíček. They wrote together a musical comedy The Baby based on the play by Georges Feydeau „On purge BÉBÉ“. The musical Baron Prášil is his fourth exquisitely staged production.

„Any time I put in front of me an empty piece of paper and I suppose to change it into a written piece of paper - I fall into despair. Do I still have something to say? Am I able to put something meaningful down? Do I want to put something meaningful down? Yes, I want to say and I know what to say, but I am too lazy. It‘s a duel all the time. The duel with myself.

The waste of our life is in the love we were not able to give, in the power we weren‘t able to use, in selfi sh caution preventing us to take a risk, because we supposed to be shielded from disappointment. We never came to know the happiness. My happiness is to have a chance to carry this fi ght with myself.
